FLOWER & DECORATION POLICY AND PERTINENT PARK RULES
Visiting Information
Our Memorial Park gates are open from 8:00 am and close at sunset every day. Security guards monitor the sunset time on a daily basis. We recommend you arrive with enough time to visit prior to sunset. Visitors will not be allowed on the grounds after sunset.
Pets or animals are not permitted on the grounds of the memorial park with the exception of assistance dogs. Assistance dogs must be on a leash or harness and should have an official identification tag.
We do not allow tables, tents/canopies, oversize umbrellas (staked into ground), ice chests, barbeque grills and/or picnicking on the grounds. Please do not leave food behind as it attracts pests and wildlife.
Be aware of your surroundings while visiting, lock your vehicles, and never approach or feed Wildlife or any animals you may encounter. Children should never be left unattended.
The possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages, marijuana or illegal drugs within our facilities or on the grounds of the Memorial Park is strictly prohibited and is subject to fines and or citations by local law enforcement.
Trashcans are for flowers only. Please take your trash with you when visiting the Cemetery.
We kindly ask that you limit your visit to no more than 10 people memorializing at a time. Banquet, picnicking, or live or loud music is not allowed and families doing so will be asked to leave at the discretion of the Park personnel.
Memorialization
A temporary marker will be placed immediately following the burial and will remain up to 60 days.
A memorial may be purchased with one of our family service counselors.
Memorials purchased from an outside vendor must be approved by Montecito Memorial Park prior to purchase. We are not responsible for memorials not accepted if they do not meet our cemetery requirements. Please stop by the office and pick up our memorial regulations.
Flowers & Decorations
Cemetery Clean Up is every Wednesday (6am-4pm) except during the holiday decorating schedule. Funeral flowers are removed on the 3rd day following the burial
You may request a complete copy of the Cemetery Rules and Regulations at the main office.
Please note that decorations outside of the installed vase is ONLY allowed during the published Holiday Decorating Schedule. Please see below for the list of approved Holiday Decorating Dates. Any decorating outside of the Holiday schedule is prohibited and will be removed at the cemetery’s discretion.
Flowers and decorations maybe moved at the discretion of cemetery personnel in order to perform burial services or necessary maintenance.
Food is NOT permitted on the graves.
Ground Installed flower vases must be approved and installed by a cemetery specialist. Certain spaces are permitted up to three (3) flower vases only. Cremation Gardens do not allow installed flower vases
Artificial flowers allowed ONLY on Mausoleum, Crypt and Niche vases.
No glass vases, decorative rocks, stones, bricks, or similar items permitted.
Wind Chimes, bird feeders, balloons, lights or similar items are not allowed to be placed in trees or shrubs within the park.
No planting, digging trenches, borders, fences, or digging of any kind permitted around the memorial or grave.
Flowers and decorations are placed at your discretion; we are not responsible for any lost, stolen or items placed outside of the cemetery guidelines.
Holiday Decorating Schedule 2022
Between the dates listed below flowers and decorations are permitted outside of the flower vase(s).
Decorations CANNOT measure taller than 3 feet in height (36 inches) and CANNOT encroach on another space or create a safety hazard; Park personnel will remove these items at their discretion. Please see above for a list of prohibited decorations.
Decorations and flowers removed by park personnel will not be stored or accessible to retrieve.
Decorations and flowers placed at your discretion; Please do not leave any valuable or personal mementos, as we are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
During the holiday decorating schedule, decorations will not be moved around to mow or trim grass.
Management reserves the right to change dates and policy at any time.
